Twirl Poker Chip Trick
Check out this http://www.pokerchiptricksvideos.com/twirl-poker-chip-trick.avi twirl video.
The simplest version of the twirl poker chip trick is done with 3 chips. The trick begins with all 3 chips being held in place between the index finger and the thumb. The grip needs to be tight enough so that the chips don't slip but loose enough so that the chips can be manipulated. The more the trick is practiced the easier it is to apply the correct amount of pressure with the grip.
The idea is to drop the middle poker chip down. This is done by applying extra pressure to the outside chip (the chip farthest away from the palm). As the extra pressure goes to the outside chip, the middle finger moves underneath the inside chip to give it extra support. Next the inside part of the grip is slightly loosened and the middle chip falls down.
The ring finger catches the middle chip so that it doesn't fall too far.
Next the ring finger moves towards the thumb until it touches. At this point the ring finger pivots the middle chip away from the palm while the thumb and the index finger bring the outer chips up.
We are now ready for the twirl.
The middle finger pulls on the far end of the middle chip so that it twirls 180 degrees.
Once the tiwrl is complete the thumb and ring finger move towards each other such that the middle chip goes back in place between the two outer chips.
I enjoyed writing about the twirl trick in the April 2006 WPT Magazine article below.
