Shuffle Poker Chip Trick

The http://www.pokerchiptricksvideos.com/shuffle-poker-chip-trick.avi shuffle video shows how to do this trick.

Tons of players shuffle their chips at the poker table and people always ask how they do it. I'm sure many players learned how to shuffle poker chips while they were studying other players at the table. I myself sometimes find myself shuffling chips at the table without fully realizing I'm doing it. However, there is a rule I try to follow. Once I've looked at my cards I try not to shuffle chips until I am out of the hand. This is because I do not want to give extra information to my opponents.

It is easier to learn how to shuffle poker chips if you start out on a soft surface like a pillow or a couch cushion.

Place two stacks of chips next to each other such that they touch each other and the middle finger in the center. The pinky and ring finger should be on the outer edge of one stack while the thumb and index finger are on the outside of the other stack. Gently lift the insides of the stack with the middle finger while squeezing from the outside. In other words, the pinky and ring finger should be applying pressure inwards from one side while the thumb and index finger apply pressure inwards from the other side. This pressure (along with help from the middle finger) forces the stacks to rise up in the middle.

Starting at the bottom of the stacks, the chips fall into place on top of each other as the four fingers and the thumb move up from the bottom of the stacks to the top.

The "how to" part of the trick is kind of hard to explain but everything just seems to fall into place after enough practice. Two keys for the "how to" part are to start on a soft surface and to limit the number of chips in each stack at first.
